Safeeya Pirani
Community Reporter
Safeeya Pirani is the Community Reporter for Global BC.
Born and raised on the North Shore, she studied Communications at SFU and graduated from BCIT’s Broadcast and Online Journalism Program in 2016. Safeeya entered the industry that year becoming the Morning Talk Show Host and News Director at Spice Radio AM1200.
Safeeya is passionate about telling diverse, community-driven stories and giving people a platform to be seen and heard. In 2022, she was awarded an RTDNA for her coverage of the one-year anniversary of protests in support of Indian farmers and was also named Broadcast Performer of Tomorrow by the BC Association of Broadcasters.
A professionally trained dancer since her pre-teen years, she taught classes and performed on stage for over 10 years. She also enjoys baking, travelling, fitness, and leading a holistic lifestyle.
